Spangdalhem Middle and High School

Located at the Spangdalhem US Air Force Base, the Spangdalhem Middle and High School is designed based on 21st century school principles, cultivating experiential learning and small group interactions. The school is organized by flexible learning pods with movable partitions that enable teachers to to transform spaces to to suit multiple types and scales of activity. The furniture is mobile to allow multiple configurations. By maximizing flexibility, individual, small or large group learning can be accommodated. The cafeteria, as a large multi-use space, is subdivided into zones of various scale and type. The adaptive environment provides a range of seating options for small, social interaction, to large assemblies.
