Perkins Somerset Oldtown Transformation Plan

Davin while at Living Design Lab was the neighborhood planner for Baltimore City’s application for the highly competitive HUD Choice Neighborhood Grant Application. Davin developed a neighborhood revitalization strategy that centered around new mixed-income housing, commercial development, open spaces and complete street corridors.
Beginning with a series of community engagement workshops, the team gathered information from key stakeholders to fully understand the historical, political, social and economic forces that have shaped the neighborhood. Through in-depth analysis of existing conditions that included field documentation, census data and GIS data collection, the team developed a revitalization strategy that identifies clear priorities and goals. In collaboration with city agencies and other stakeholders, these priorities were translated to specific projects that could then be queued to the city’s CIP.
